They also don't have handicapped parking. This establishment is not wheelchair accessible so it was a good thing I can walk short distances and waddle in. It was delicious! I also ordered the lobster bisque and it was good, but my husband's clam chowder was the best I have ever had! Definitely a must 's like an "O" for your mouth. Best waitress I've had anywhere! I asked her what she recommended and I got my very first lobster roll. I thought ok but the waitress is going to be annoyed and rush us she didn't, the exact opposite. We got to the restaurant near closing expecting to get turned away, but we weren't. I highly recommend this place as a must if you're in the area.
I absolutely loved this place! From the decorations to the food and especially our waitress. Next time I'm in the area I may give them another try, especially if the chili verde special is available.This was my first visit to New Hampshire and The Lobster Boat. Not sure what other choices are nearby, but if Margaritas had been nearby, it would have been a better choice. Good Mexican food can be hard to come by in New England so everything is relative. I can't help but wonder how much better the meal could have been since most of the food seemed promising but in the end fell short of expectations. Both of our entrees could have used more enchilada sauce. The refries were good, but the rice was just rice, nothing special at all. My wife had the Bandera Mexica which was OK, but nothing special. My Del Mar was OK, but the crab enchilada was overcooked and quite dry inside. The chili verde was absolutely outstanding! Sadly the rest of our order was not much better than average for the area.
We immediately ordered a bowl, then set about looking at the menu.
We arrived on a cold December day and were lucky to have spotted the chili verde special on the blackboard as we arrived.
The low ceilings and rustic log walls give you the impression that you are in an old building somewhere south of the border. The owners did a nice job with the decor. The interior has a good sized bar area and several small to medium sized dining areas. The building is a rambling affair that was probably someone's home at one time. Tortilla Flat in Merrimack has been around a long time.
